The environment is all around us. It is many things to many people. To some, it is a clam, quiet place to relax and be alone. To others, it could be seen as a place to walk with friends. To all animals, it simply produces the oxygen we breath. But to everyone, it is dying.
First off, Global warming is destroying the ice caps at the North and South Poles. The ice in these regions is melting because of high levels of carbon in the atmosphere, as well as the burning of many other fossil fuels. This is slowly heating up the atmosphere, which is raising ocean levels slowly. This leads to loss of habitat for a huge amount of wildlife as well as the flooding of some coastal cities.
Another major issue is deforestation. Trees are being cut down faster than we can replant them. They are used to build wooden products as well as paper. Yet trees are a major source of the oxygen that we all breath. So how can we survive if we keep cutting down all of these trees?
