Statistics on environmental problems and awareness
I interviewed many students at my school to discover what they think and know about the environment.
First off, we'll start with some good statistics:
This shows that we have been very
effective at getting the word out about
this problem!
First off, we'll start with some good statistics:
- 87.5% of youth believe that we should put more resources into helping the environment.
- 95.8% of youth know what is causing pollution in the atmosphere and environment. This is such a great number, because the youth will become the future and they can make changes in our environment.
- Half of the surveyed teenagers believed that global warming/environmental problems are one of the most important issues facing us all today.
This shows that we have been very
effective at getting the word out about
this problem!
Unfortunately, i found some other things out that
show that we need to change some things:
show that we need to change some things:
- 83% of youth believe that the government is not being effective in solving the environmental crisis.
- Only one in seven teenagers believe that our environment is healthy. And since it isn't getting better right now, how can it be for those that come after us?
- Finally, for the most part, environmental problems are often seen as less important because it is a much slower process.
